Matchstick Art

Some artists sculpt with clay, others in bronze, and still others with matchsticks. There is even a Matchstick Marvels Museum in Iowa.

There is a matchstick version of Hogwarts from
Harry Potter,

a replica of the U.S. Capitol,

a dress,

and even an Elvis made from match heads (Can you say
"Hunka Hunka Burning Love"?) .

I think it goes to show that an artist just sees things differently than a non-artist like me. They have the ability to imagine something this amazing, and I am sure impressed by it.

i'm impressed with the dress and how it has so much movement for being made out of wood.

I am impressed with this. The "kid" in me wonders if you could light a cigarette & toss the match in this museum- esp. by Elvis???
