Coalescence Cascade

Physics of a Water Droplet... When you gently and slowly place a drop of water onto a pool of water, it does not completely absorb into the pool. Instead, the layer of air trapped beneath the droplet makes it briefly float on top of the pool. Then, some of the droplet is pulled into the pool, leaving a smaller droplet on top of the pool. This can happen several times before the entire droplet is absorbed. This is called the Coalescense Cascade. Here is the cool video that will help make everything clear:
