Carved Book Landscapes

I can't decide whether I am more impressed by how cool these turned out, or more sad that someone ruined a book. I think I will choose to believe that the books were going to be thrown out and someone rescued them and turned them into art. I just noticed that the artist said these were obsolete encyclopedias.
